Job summary

Strava in San Francisco is seeking a senior fullstack engineer to help secure and streamline athlete accounts across iOS, Android, and web. You’ll work across mobile and backend services to improve sign-up, login, password management, account recovery, and privacy controls.

This role collaborates with Product, Security, Trust & Safety, and Legal, and requires strong engineering fundamentals, a product mindset, and the ability to break down complex problems into multi‑component solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering across mobile and backend
• Experience breaking down complex problems into multi‑component solutions
• Product mindset balancing user experience with data protection
• Strong collaboration with product, security, and legal stakeholders
• Experience with authentication protocols (OAuth, SSO) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Build features across sign-up, login, password management, and account recovery for mobile and backend services
• Design and implement clear, intuitive privacy controls for athletes
• Partner with Product, Security, Trust & Safety and Legal to meet compliance needs
• Drive consistency in login, privacy, and account experiences across iOS, Android, and web
• Use data to monitor login success, recovery flows, and engagement with privacy controls
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations
• Break down ambiguous problems into well-scoped, multi-component solutions and weigh trade-offs
