Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly motivated Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer for its Software Department team. You will participate in collaborative, cross-disciplined product teams, planning, designing, testing and integrating complex EW software and systems.

The role requires a Bachelor's in STEM with 10+ years of experience, strong C/C++ and embedded expertise, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance. Occasional travel and agile development practices are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in C/C++ software design, integration and testing.
• Experience with embedded microprocessor design and SOC software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience across all software lifecycle phases: architecture, requirements, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Software Department team in Atlanta, GA is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer to be part of their team supporting Electronic Warfare (EW) programs.

What You Will Do:

Participate in collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile system and software development operations to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.

Responsibilities include innovating creative implementations of new products and technologies, from architecture and design, through integration, lab test and field test.

Collaborating effectively with other disciplines and senior technical staff, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal customers to form original solutions to complex problems.

Developing software requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the software in a laboratory setting.

Work in an advanced product development team environment with systems, firmware, electrical and software engineers.

Handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with Systems and Electrical Engineers

This position may require occasional business-related travel.

Qualifications You Must Have :

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C / C++.

Experience with embedded microprocessor design, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, flash memories, block diagrams, signal analyses and signal generation.

Experience in all software lifecycle phases: software architecture, system/software requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification testing, system integration, and post-delivery maintenance.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Existing Secret security clearance.

Electronic Warfare Electronic Attack/Electronic Support (EA/ES), Radar, or Secure Communications technology knowledge.

Lab experience in product testing using logic analyzers, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and system on chip debugging tools.

Experience developing real-time applications on embedded platforms, including bare metal, embedded Linux, VxWorks and Windows environments.

Experience with software algorithm development.

Experience as technical / project lead

Tool familiarity: Visual Studio, Workbench, Vitis, Git, Jira, Collaborator.

Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: PCIe, VPX, Gb Ethernet, RoCE and OMS.

Experience with Radar technology, machine languages.

Experienced in Agile development processes.
