Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior Principal Tooling Engineer to lead the design, build, and process development of plastic tooling for new product development. You will ensure alignment with product design and manufacturing requirements, guide suppliers through tool build and qualification, and apply GD&T and statistical methods to drive robust process development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in plastics, mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or for advanced degree, 8+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Own mold tool development and injection molding projects.
• Lead mold tool design, build, and qualification activities.
• Guide suppliers through tool build, validation, and qualification per DRM and SPI standards.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and DOE/MSA/SPC methods.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Suppliers/CMs, Marketing, Biocompatibility, Operations.
