Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Sr Principal Tool Engineer to lead tooling development and supplier collaboration for the plastics value stream in the Diabetes Business OU. The role focuses on designing and procuring molding tooling for new product introductions and reducing supply chain complexity.

The candidate will partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality and regulatory teams to ensure high-capability plastics across vendors, aligning with ramp plans and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Mastery in molding and tooling for NPIs in plastics
• Experience with supplier development and vendor management
• Strong understanding of quality, regulatory and ramp requirements

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops and implements industrial machinery, tooling, dies and fixtures for production or experimental use.
• Mentors or leads colleagues on tooling projects and ensures compliance with policies.
• Collaborates with R&D, manufacturing, quality and regulatory teams to ensure vendor and process capability.
• Develops 2–5 year tooling plans and identifies ramp and efficiency opportunities across the supply chain.
