Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer for the SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center at Schriever AFB, CO. This role requires hands-on radar expertise and travel up to 10% domestically and internationally to support Missile Defense missions.

You will work with multiple warfighter communities, provide radar education, participate in wargames, and contribute to system testing and deployment within the Missile Defense System. Remote work is not an option.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience working with radar systems, within the Missile Defense System and/or related fields.

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to support the Sensors Warfighter Support Team onsite at Schriever AFB in Colorado Springs, CO. You will also be part of the broader Systems Engineering Directorate, which develops and maintains high-fidelity performance simulations, performs system performance analysis (including pre-flight prediction and post-flight matching), supports new business initiatives, and contributes to technology roadmaps. Remote and hybrid work is not an option for this role. In this role, you will join a small, highly collaborative team operating in a dynamic environment and performing a wide variety of technical and operational support tasks. You will work directly with multiple warfighter communities, providing critical expertise related to Missile Defense System (MDS) sensors. The team’s work spans warfighter education, wargames and exercises, radar analysis, capability deployment, operational support, threat modeling, and more. Domestic and international travel is an essential component of supporting warfighters and associated organizations.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics (STEM).
• Strong communication skills with tactical users, engineering teams, senior military leaders, and corporate leadership.
• Experience supporting missions or business needs through domestic and/or international travel.
• Experience with the AN/TPY-2 radar.
• Missile Defense experience, including knowledge of MDA elements and fielding configurations.
• Prior hands‑on experience with radar analysis.
• Prior military experience.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
