Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Structural Engineer based in Linthicum, MD. You will lead structural analyses for airborne, shipboard, and ground-based systems, including loads development, static and fatigue analysis, and vibration studies.

You will mentor analysts, collaborate with IPT leads, and contribute to successful program execution while ensuring technical excellence and risk mitigation. A DoD Secret level clearance is typically required for start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in structural engineering or a related field.
• Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or PhD with 1 year may substitute.
• Experience with DoD/US Government clearance processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform structural analyses on aerospace/space structures including loads development and stress analysis.
• Perform finite element and vibration analyses on metallic and composite structures.
• Mentor junior engineers, plan staffing, and communicate results to IPT leads and customers.
• Coordinate with program management to assess risks and milestones.
