Job summary

The Boeing Company is seeking a Principal Software Engineer / Developer to join the Phantom Works Open Architecture Systems team in the Saint Louis area, Berkeley, MO. The role focuses on leading real-time software development for defense systems in an Agile environment and requires strong collaboration across hardware/software teams.

You will drive software architecture, DevSecOps practices, and delivery milestones while mentoring engineers and ensuring testability, traceability, and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with US Citizenship
• 3+ years of technical leadership in ground and software system engineering
• 3+ years as the technical leader of a software development or product deployment team
• 5+ years of Development Operations (DevOps) and/or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps)
• 5+ years of experience with configuration management tools and best practices for Systems, Software, and Hardware design

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the software architecture with focus on interface clarity, stability, and versioning to minimize integration risk.
• Lead agile delivery: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews/retrospectives, and remove impediments to flow.
• Define, document, and enforce software integration contracts and data models with ICs and test artifacts.
• Drive DevSecOps and CI/CD practices for the team: repeatable builds, automated testing, and consistent deployments.
• Collaborate with Integration & Test to align delivery cadence with increments and baselines.
