Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Software Engineer for a hybrid role based in Melbourne, Florida, Rancho Bernardo, CA or El Segundo, CA. The candidate will translate LiDAR algorithms to high-performance GPU code, build LiDAR software models, and document software using UML while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires strong C++ and MATLAB/Simulink experience, GPGPU knowledge, and a track record in STEM advanced degrees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++.
• Experience with GPGPU frameworks like CUDA or OpenCL.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Translate MATLAB LiDAR algorithms into high-performance GPU implementations using C++ and CUDA.
• Create LiDAR software models and test datasets for SIL testing.
• Create software documentation using UML.
• Work with LiDAR hardware in a lab environment.
• Communicate progress and results to a multidisciplinary team.
