Job summary

TCS is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team supporting the Ground based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program in Huntsville, AL. In this in-office role, you will contribute to the Ground Weapons System (GWS) by developing and sustaining the GFC product, using modern tools and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities include understanding, implementing, and testing complex algorithms and physics-based solutions, with a strong emphasis on code quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university with 8+ years of related experience OR Master’s with 6+ years OR PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience developing software in C, Java, or Ada.
• Ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) as an individual contributor on the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product.
• Understand, implement and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms.
• Contribute to software that evaluates and manages the threat scene for the missile defense system.
