Job summary

TCS Inc in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support the Ground based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. The role is in-office with no remote work, requiring strong C/Java/Ada skills and experience with Linux, MATLAB, and Python.

The successful candidate will contribute to complex math and physics-based algorithms for the GWS, collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team, and work in a high-expectation environment supporting MDA mission objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related work experience or a Masters with 3 years, or PhD
• Experience developing software in C, Java, or Ada
• Willingness to become proficient with Ada
• Applicants must possess good communication skills
• Ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products and discussions
• Capable of working independently and within a team environment
• Must be able to support an in-person closed area work environment
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
• Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance at time of application

Responsibilities

• Support the GMD Weapons System as an individual contributor on the GMD Fire Control product
• Understand, implement and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms for GWS
• Collaborate with a fast-paced, diverse team to deliver on program goals
