Job summary

Technical Consulting Solutions, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Principal Software Engineer to join a strong team supporting the GMD program. The role focuses on building and sustaining complex software for the GMD system in an in-office environment.

The candidate will work on the GFC product, applying advanced math/physics-based algorithms, and will contribute to a large codebase while collaborating across diverse teams. DoD clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of related work experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience developing software in C++/Java/Ada; willingness to learn Ada.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in an in-person, closed-area environment; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Support GMD Weapons System and GFC product as an individual contributor.
• Understand, implement, and test complex math/physics-based capabilities.
• Contribute to a large codebase (~1.5 million lines) evaluating threat scenes.
