Job summary

Zoetis is seeking an experienced Principal/Senior Principal Scientist to lead process chemistry efforts for novel veterinary therapeutics. This role drives design, scale-up, and optimization of synthetic routes from mg to multi-kilogram scales, while advancing impurity control, DOE/QbD, and robust tech transfers to manufacturing.

You will mentor teams and collaborate across functions to deliver compliant, innovative processes.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with minimum 8 years industry experience in pharma/veterinary process chemistry.
• Leadership experience: at least 2 years managing teams or projects.
• Broad expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry with track record of innovative solutions.
• Experience with scale-up to multi-kilogram API manufacturing and tech transfer.
• Familiar with ICH guidelines, cGMP, and process safety regulations.
• Experience with DOE, QbD, and data-rich experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead process chemistry design, development, and scale-up of syntheses for veterinary therapeutics.
• Independently scale-up and optimize processes from mg to multi-kilogram scale.
• Develop impurity control strategies to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Provide strategic direction and act as scientific leader across multiple projects.
• Lead technology transfer to commercial manufacturing facilities.
• Mentor colleagues and collaborate cross-functionally to drive productivity.
