Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego seeks a Senior Principal Robotics Software Engineer to lead the robotics software stack, own motion planning and controls, and drive engineering practices. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with hardware and process teams, and push forward learning-based methods with simulation and real hardware validation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building robotics software with end-to-end motion planning or controls.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Robotics or related field, or equivalent.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
• Startup or fast-paced tech environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build motion and trajectory planning for pick and place tasks across multiple robots.
• Develop kinematics and motion planning, including inverse kinematics and trajectories.
• Own the driver layer connecting to robot hardware and real-time control.
• Advance the stack with learning-based methods and simulation, RL and sim-to-real.
• Set technical direction for the robotics software stack and integration with fleet management.
