Job Description

The Analytical Research & Development team is seeking a talented, highly motivated candidate with experience in the characterization of peptide and oligonucleotide biomolecules. The successful candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of analytical methods for characterizing peptides and oligonucleotides using advanced analytical techniques, focusing on high-order structure characterization. We are looking for diverse candidates with strong scientific and leadership experience to join our team and explore exciting career opportunities. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in analytical development for biomolecule therapeutics, supporting CMC activities, and participating in phase-appropriate characterization throughout the development process.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of advanced analytical characterization methods for peptide and oligonucleotide development programs.
• Utilize high-resolution, tandem mass spectrometry and other structure elucidation techniques to characterize various modalities including oligonucleotides, peptides, small molecules, starting materials, intermediates, and impurities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies for structure elucidation to advance programs through the development pipeline.
• Share knowledge and provide expertise to colleagues and management; mentor and train team members.
• Ensure quality and effectiveness of project results through sound design and risk assessments.
• Identify emerging scientific trends in molecular characterization and incorporate relevant advances into project strategies.
• Innovate by creating new approaches and solutions across disciplines.
• Contribute significantly to team projects and drive programs through critical milestones.
• Generate scientific proposals and lead related efforts, responding to scientific or regulatory advances with new strategies.

Qualifications

• PhD with 10+ years of experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related field.
• Deep understanding of peptide and oligonucleotide characterization, including higher order structure, chiral identification, and mass spectrometry, with experience in NMR spectroscopy preferred.
• Proficiency in LC separations (IP-RP LC, SEC), capillary electrophoresis, and other separation techniques.
• Experience in peptide/oligonucleotide chemistry and biochemistry, especially in high-order characterization activities for drug development.
• Leadership experience in peptide and small molecule development projects.
• Proven ability to innovate and improve product development processes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
