Job summary

FINRA is seeking a Senior Principal Research Analyst in Regulatory Operations Analytics to plan and execute analytics projects across their lifecycle. The role focuses on driving quantitative methods, data integration, and automation to support regulatory efficiency and effectiveness.

You will mentor junior analysts, collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups, and stay current with AI/ML developments to enhance FINRA’s analytics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Business, or similar quantitative discipline and six+ years of related work experience in Data Science, Engineering or Software development.
• Experience in advanced analytics using machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Python, R, SQL, or SCALA and familiarity with Big Data processing and platforms desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote advanced analytics and insights for internal/external stakeholders, including senior management.
• Lead business engagement activities: use cases, user feedback, training, etc.
• Contribute to development/enhancement of FINRA’s cross-market surveillance program.
• Deliver analytics capabilities across delivery teams to solve critical business problems.
• Provide data/tools/infrastructure for experimentation and development.
