Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Cleared Senior/Principal R&D Systems Engineer for high consequence cryptographic systems, onsite. You will lead NSA interactions to certify and deliver cryptographic systems, manage requirements, and collaborate with DoD and USAF stakeholders.

A DOE-Q/DoD-TS clearance and travel up to 25% are required. The role emphasizes security, qualification, and verification activities across multidisciplinary teams, with growth in next-generation R&D

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with five years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent
• Active US DOE-Q or DoD TS security clearance (ability to obtain SCI)
• Graduate degree in Engineering or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Drive development, decomposition, traceability, and validation of functional, interface, and security requirements
• Lead engagement with the NSA on security requirements compliance and certification documentation
• Collaborate with end users to develop procedures for operational use of custom developed products
• Develop requirements traceability reports, verification/validation plans, and qualification plans
• Contribute to next-generation R&D work in Use Control, including Coded Switches and Code Management Systems
• Travel up to 25% to support the mission
• Work onsite due to nature of the work
