Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks an independent, self-motivated R&D Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical engineering efforts within the Hardened Deeply Buried Targets (HDBT) Program of Record. You will guide design, integration, and verification of critical weapon system components in a high-stakes environment.

This role requires leading multi-team collaboration across Sandia and external partners, driving strategic technical communication, and ensuring system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with five years of directly relevant experience.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start.
• Ability to lead a large, complex electrical engineering scope and deliver independent research and development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of advanced electrical systems and manage sub-team challenges.
• Collaborate with Sandia, NNSA, LANL, Kansas City NSC, Pantex, and the USAF on technical and programmatic issues.
• Clearly articulate technical issues and options through compelling briefings for decision-makers.
• Rigorously analyze system performance to ensure designs meet stringent requirements and reliability.
• Define and refine functional and interface requirements for seamless system integration.
• Contribute to national security by advancing nuclear deterrence capabilities.
