Job summary
Electric Power Engineers (EPE) seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Engineer with a background in Generation and Load Interconnection, and Transmission Planning for the WECC. You will coach staff, provide SME input to clients, and support growth with senior leadership guidance.
You will work on interconnection studies, IBR modelling and systems analysis while aligning with industry standards. This role emphasizes solving complex grid challenges and advancing energy intelligence.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the electric energy industry.
- Experience with interconnection studies and transmission planning.
- Strong knowledge of FERC, NERC and ISO interconnection requirements.
- Experience mentoring technical teams and working with industry groups.
- Experience using AI/automation to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex interconnection studies including load flow, short circuit and transient stability across WECC.
- Review study results, replicate findings, and identify mitigations affecting upgrades.
- Support developers navigating interconnection processes in WECC.
- Serve as SME on interconnection studies and stay updated on industry changes.
- Develop client relationships and contribute to new product development.
