Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Project/Program Manager to oversee operational aspects of complex DoD programs, including FBM hardware and Navy interfaces. You will liaison between PM, planning, and line management while monitoring budgets, schedules, and risk.

The role supports IWO, EVM, and PMR activities, with travel to select sites. Ideal candidates have DoD background, CAM certification, and the ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of project/program management experience or closely related OR Master's with 6 years relevant experience OR PhD with 4 years relevant experience
• Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort speaking in a group environment with the customer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
• US citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance
• Exposure to Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Navy customer SP22
• Experience in military or civil servant environments
• Background working with Department of Defense (DoD) customers
• Experience working with DFAR items, DD1149 and/or Navy contracts
• Cost Account Manager (CAM) Certification with NG or other government contracts
• Logistics experience
• Ability to review and understand engineering drawings
• Occasional travel 5% of the time to California, West Virginia, Georgia, Washington State or Washington D.C.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
• Current government Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects
• Serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management
• Review project status and budgets
• Manage schedules and prepare status reports
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, intervention, and problem solving
• Support production activities and problems associated with Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Launcher hardware
• Support Spares, Repairs and Gas Generator group production activities
• Provide subject matter expert input in internal and external meetings regarding hardware status, cost, schedule, and technical topics
• Support Basis of Estimate (BOE) proposal generation, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) support, Program Management Review (PMR) monthly charts, and Performance Obligation charts
• Track planned work, project execution, delays, and manufacturing activities with the Operations Program Manager
• Generate, review, and update schedules
• Coordinate procurement of spare components and consumable materials with Global Supply Chain
• Support project reviews and updates for Earned Value Management (EVM) activities and tripwire explanations
• Coordinate Government Furnished Material (GFM) with SP22 Navy customer, Logistics, and subcontractors
• Initiate, monitor, and coordinate Intercompany Work Order (IWO) contracts
• Develop Integrated Product Team (IPT) agenda topics and participate in customer teleconferences
• Work with Quality Assurance to resolve problems and track hardware through its workflow life cycle
• Participate in long‑term planning activities to support program success
