Job summary

Nightwing seeks a Senior Principal Software Developer (System Security) to join the Products team and work on multi-layered cyber resiliency solutions protecting mission-critical systems and DoD platforms. The role emphasizes OS-level security features, memory management, and deep security engineering across Windows, Linux, and VxWorks.

You will develop capabilities that lock down execution environments, protect data at rest and in execution, and implement robust cyber detection and response

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience in systems-level programming.
• Expert-level C/C++ skills with memory management and low-level programming concepts.
• Deep OS-level systems programming experience and understanding of how the OS works under the hood.
• Experience debugging complex systems with tools like gdb, WinDbg, or Visual Studio Debugger.

Responsibilities

• Develop OS-level security features operating deep within the operating system.
• Build detection and response mechanisms to counter advanced threats.
• Implement cryptographic binding of sensitive software to trusted hardware.
• Create system lockdown capabilities to minimize attack surface.
• Integrate with Hardware Root of Trust (HRoT) solutions.
• Support multi-OS platforms (Windows, Linux, VxWorks).
