Job summary

Nightwing Intelligence Solutions, LLC is seeking a Principal Software Developer (System Security) to advance OS-level security features across Windows, Linux, and VxWorks. You will work on detection and response mechanisms, cryptographic bindings, and deeper kernel-level security with mentorship from senior engineers.

You should have strong C/C++ expertise, OS internals knowledge, and a passion for low-level security engineering in a national-security focused environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience in systems-level programming.
• Expert-level C/C++ skills with deep understanding of memory management and low-level programming concepts.
• Strong OS-level systems programming experience; deep understanding of how the OS works under the hood.
• Experience debugging complex systems using tools like gdb, WinDbg, Visual Studio Debugger, or similar.
• Version control proficiency (Git) in a team environment.
• Self-directed learning ability with a track record of mastering new technical domains.
• University Degree or equivalent; 8+ years experience, or Advanced Degree with 5+ years experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop OS-level security features deep within the OS.
• Build detection and response mechanisms for advanced threats.
• Implement cryptographic binding of software to trusted hardware.
• Create system lockdown capabilities to minimize attack surface.
• Integrate with Hardware Root of Trust (HRoT) solutions.
• Protect against sophisticated attacks from well-funded adversaries.
• Support multi-OS platforms (Windows, Linux, VxWorks).
