Responsibilities

• Source and select optical components.
• Build prototypes based on optical designs.
• Characterize fiber optic devices and conduct troubleshooting.
• Generate build and test reports.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in product qualification and reliability activities.
• Transfer new products to manufacturing and support production.

Skills

Good understanding of basic optical components and fiber optic devices

Ability to work with little supervision

Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

Fiber optic experience

Familiarity with UV epoxies

Education

BS or MS in engineering or related technical fields
