Job summary

Nurix, Inc. in Brisbane, CA is seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry to design and synthesize novel chemical entities optimized for potency and ADME properties, and to guide drug discovery programs toward go/no-go decisions.

You will collaborate with computational and structural biology groups, contribute to patents and publications, and lead process improvements in the chemistry department.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with 8-10+ years pharmaceutical medicinal chemistry industrial experience.
• Track record of delivering advanced leads/ development candidates.
• Excellent knowledge of medicinal chemistry principles with a solid understanding of biology, pharmacology, ADME concepts and SAR.
• Strong working knowledge of protein-ligand interactions and computational tools.
• Expert in organic synthesis with strong problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership in a cross-functional team setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel chemical entities optimized for potency, selectivity, PK and in vivo efficacy.
• Collaborate with computational chemists and structural biology groups to guide drug discovery programs.
• Contribute to patents, reports and scientific publications.
• Initiate and/or lead process improvements within the chemistry department or cross-functionally.
