Job summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer for our Naval & Oceanic Systems unit in Annapolis, MD. The role focuses on translating customer requirements into system solutions for undersea-domain platforms such as torpedoes, UUVs, ROVs, and related sonar and communication systems.
Responsibilities include concept development, design, hardware integration and testing, while balancing technical, schedule and cost constraints.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Aerospace/Mechanical) with 8+ years of experience.
- On-site work at Annapolis, MD campus.
- Experience with FEA, 3D CAD, and structural analysis.
- US citizen able to obtain TS/SCI and pass a polygraph.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements into system solutions within schedule and cost constraints.
- Lead concept development, design and hardware integration/testing for undersea-domain systems.
- Collaborate, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Analyze complex problems and communicate clearly in writing and speech.
