Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as a technical authority for complex mechanical designs, from concept through production and lifecycle support. You will lead cross-functional programs, mentor engineers, and drive design for manufacturability while ensuring safety, reliability, and cost targets.

You will collaborate with product management, manufacturing, materials, and quality to deliver robust solutions and accelerate innovation across global teams.

Qualifications

• This role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a strong track record in mechanical design development.
• At least 10 years of engineering/technical experience with complex mechanical products.
• Experience delivering concepts through production release and lifecycle support.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex mechanical designs, assemblies, and interfaces from concept to production release.
• Lead technical execution of mechanical design projects, including analysis, prototyping, verification, and qualification.
• Perform design reviews, tolerance analysis, and root-cause investigations for high-risk programs.
• Mentor engineers and drive reuse, modularity, and cost-effective design improvements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure producibility and transfer.
