Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer (Level 4) to support the Facilities Mechanical Engineering Department in Promontory, Utah. This is an on-site role, with travel up to 10%, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S.

Government security clearance. You will design mechanical piping and process equipment, develop P&IDs, perform design calculations, review drawings for manufacturability, lead project schedules, and coordinate procurements to meet program

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of Facilities Engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Industrial mechanical design and process equipment experience.
• AutoCAD drafting ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design to support Facilities Mechanical Engineering.
• Manage projects and procurements to meet cost and schedule.
• Design P&IDs for plant systems including boilers, water treatment, hydraulics.
• Prepare calculations and specs for heat exchangers, pumps, piping.
• Review drawings for manufacturability and standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment in the field with maintenance staff.
