Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Flight Systems Post-Boost, Payloads and Protections Operating Unit is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to coordinate with suppliers, review designs, and integrate with NG teams to ensure adherence to requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, US citizenship, an active Secret clearance, and ability to obtain SAP clearance. The standard schedule is 9/80 with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen
• Active Secret clearance at time of application
• Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP) clearance
• Experience with mechanical design and release on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
• Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX or equivalent
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Able to work independently, in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with suppliers and NG teams to review designs and ensure requirements are met.
• Participate in design reviews, design release, research, plan, design and develop mechanical products and solutions.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail in a collaborative environment
