Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Senior Principal, Information Systems to provide advanced technical leadership on network and infrastructure initiatives across Mercury sites. You will guide engineering solutions, influence IT standards, and mentor engineers in a global multi-site environment.

This strategic role focuses on secure, scalable IT architecture, incident response leadership, and collaboration with senior leadership to evolve policies and practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of related professional experience (Mercury IC5 Senior Principal level).
• Expert knowledge of data networking and integration principles, architectures, and operational best practices.
• Proven experience leading major network design, deployment, and modernization projects as a senior technical contributor.
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, controls, and compliance considerations.
• Experience with domestic and international telecommunications vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and guide engineering teams in a multisite environment.
• Ability to independently evaluate emerging technologies and recommend scalable, secure solutions.
• Experience with voice/video conferencing across 20 sites worldwide.
• Proficiency with virtualization, identity management, DNS/PKI, storage, enterprise voice, and server farm management.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership for Information Systems across multiple sites.
• Design, deploy, monitor, and manage enterprise infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wireless, Voice) with reliability, scalability, and security.
• Lead major network modernization initiatives and develop tactical engineering strategies.
• Research, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies aligned with Mercury's IT strategy.
• Lead complex incident response and root-cause analysis for hardware, software, and networking issues.
• Act as primary technical lead on enterprise network projects from planning through implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to shape IT policies, standards, and governance.
• Present technical findings and architectural recommendations to senior leadership as needed.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with network security requirements.
