Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking a Sr Principal Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer to lead GNC design, integration, and innovation for spacecraft systems. You will own end-to-end GNC architecture, including sensors, actuators, and avionics frameworks, while ensuring scalable and reusable designs across programs.

The role requires extensive programming experience, leadership, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically 15+ years of related experience.
• Extensive expertise in multiple programming languages and software development principles.
• Ability to design, architect, and implement complex software systems.
• Strong leadership to guide a team of engineers.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end GNC design across spacecraft programs.
• Architect GNC sensor, avionics, and actuator frameworks.
• Drive program execution toward key GNC milestones.
• Collaborate with AI&T planning and HITL testing for subsystem validation.
• Mentor and train GNC engineers across projects.
