Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal GNC Engineer – Flying Qualities (Level 4) in Melbourne, FL. You will design, develop, and test GNC algorithms to meet air vehicle flying qualities and stability targets, supporting flight tests and design reviews.

The role requires strong MATLAB/Simulink experience, collaboration across multiple disciplines, and a willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Must have BS in STEM with 8+ years, or MS with 6+, or PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Active US Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test GNC algorithms and software.
• Develop control laws for air vehicle performance and flying qualities.
• Create dynamic simulation models and integration into hardware-in-the-loop.
• Support design reviews and program milestones.
