Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector in Chandler, AZ seeks a Sr. Principal Engineer in Aerodynamics to lead advanced launch vehicle aerodynamic design and wind tunnel programs.

You will develop 6DOF aerodynamic models, perform trade studies, and present findings to leadership. 100% on-site role with a 9/80 schedule and occasional travel. Requires a Secret clearance and a strong background in CFD tools and legacy aero codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Must have 6DOF aerodynamic model development experience.
• Experience with Python and Linux operating systems.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced launch vehicle aerodynamic designs and support wind tunnel testing.
• Develop aerodynamic models for launch vehicle simulation and conduct trade studies.
• Present findings to management and leadership through reviews and reports.
• Plan staffing and manage tasks to support vehicle design from concept to flight.
• Lead wind tunnel testing and aeroelastic analyses across flight regimes.
