Job summary

Akkar is seeking a senior Robotics Safety Engineer to lead end-to-end safety programmes for complex robotic and autonomous systems in a fully remote capacity. You will drive hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety lifecycle delivery in line with international standards.

The role requires extensive experience in safety engineering, with leadership capabilities and strong knowledge of robotics safety standards and SIL/PL determination. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in safety engineering (ideally robotics, industrial autonomous, or equivalent).
• Proven leadership delivering complex safety programmes.
• Deep knowledge of robotics safety standards and SIL/PL determination.

A specialist safety engineering consultancy is seeking experienced Robotics Safety Engineers to lead high-integrity robotics and automation safety programmes.

This is a senior, client-facing technical leadership role supporting the development and certification of advanced robotic and autonomous systems in line with international safety standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading end-to-end safety programmes for complex robotic systems
• Driving hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety lifecycle delivery
• Developing safety requirements aligned to IEC 61508, ISO 13849, 13482, and other relevant standards
• Conducting FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, and related analyses
• Advising on functional safety architectures for collaborative and autonomous systems
• Mentoring engineers and acting as the senior technical authority
• Supporting client growth and industry engagement

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years in safety engineering (ideally robotics, industrial autonomous, or equivalent)
• Proven leadership delivering complex safety programmes
• Deep knowledge of robotics safety standards and SIL/PL determination
• Experience across hardware or software safety
• Functional Safety Expert (FSE) or equivalent (TÜV/Exida preferred)
