Job summary

RiseMe is seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer/Software Architect for its internal platform team in New York. You will own architectural direction, drive platform strategy, and mentor 5–7 senior engineers while collaborating with product managers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact software solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding (~70–80%), strong architecture leadership, and the adoption of modern software engineering practices in a Microsoft/Azure environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as Software Engineer/Architect or similar senior tech role.
• Track record collaborating on technical projects with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on development experience to stand up architectures and drive adoption.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD and IaC deployment practices.
• Proven engineering leadership including guiding teams toward common goals.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to translate complex tech to diverse audiences.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; experience with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Drive and evangelize architecture for new and existing platforms and applications.
• Deliver thought leadership, strategic direction, standards, and technology guidance.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain architectures for solutions and innovations.
• Lead architecture strategies, frameworks and governance processes.
• Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with product managers across the firm.
• Align engineering efforts with SLAs, costs, and business objectives.
