Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Engineer - Survivability to join our team as a Field Service Engineer with up to 50% travel to domestic and international sites. Location options include Palmdale, San Diego, El Segundo (CA) or Melbourne (FL).

The role requires strong Survivability knowledge, CAD and design/analysis experience, and a current Top Secret clearance. Join a company with a storied history in aerospace and a mission to innovate future defense

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
8+ years for Senior Principal with Bachelor’s in STEM or 6+ years with Master’s or 4+ years with PhD.
Fundamental understanding of Survivability principles across RF/IR/Vis/Acoustic domains.
Current active US Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP clearance.
Experience with Survivability-related tools and CAD software.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with designers and supportability engineers to ensure compliance with Survivability requirements.
Develop and integrate technologies to reduce system detectability.
Design, plan, and execute RCS/RF tests and deliver pre/post test reports.
Analyze test results and provide recommendations on materials and capabilities.
Coordinate with suppliers on design, delivery and testing.
