Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (T3) or Sr. Principal Engineer Supplier Quality (T4) to join the Mission Assurance team.

This 100% remote role requires residing within 30 miles of Long Island, NY, with travel to local suppliers and potential overnight stays across surrounding states. Responsibilities include risk management, implementing supplier quality programs, evaluation and selection, and ensuring compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Quality experience, or a Master’s degree and 3 years of Quality experience, or PhD and 1 year of Quality experience.
• Valid State Driver’s License to operate a motor vehicle and dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers
• Travel up to 100% of the time with some overnight required
• Experience Manufacturing/Engineering with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
• Experience interfacing with suppliers/customers to meet quality objectives (e.g., Source Inspection, FAI review, RCCA, Process witnessing, On-boarding, Audits, etc.)
• Experience utilizing basic inspection tools (e.g. Calipers, micrometers) and interpreting engineering requirements (e.g., reading blueprints, specifications, contractual flow downs, etc.)
• Proficient with MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
• Assures supplier process and product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Interfaces with suppliers and manages supplier quality plans.
• Drives root cause corrective action and tracks supplier performance.
• Coordinates supplier qualification, approval, and flow-down requirements.
• Oversees supplier risk assessments and mitigations across programs.
