Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Principal Engineer, Software Engineering – eCommerce and Portal Applications to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise platforms. You’ll work across architecture, standards, and delivery, driving secure, scalable digital solutions for customers and partners.

You will mentor engineers, guide modernization of legacy systems to cloud-enabled, API-driven architectures, and promote headless, modular approaches where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with significant enterprise app experience.
• 3+ years in staff/principal or equivalent senior role.
• Strong hands-on experience building large-scale eCommerce/portal web apps.
• Expertise in microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and domain-driven design.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical leader for eCommerce and portal app engineering initiatives.
• Drive engineering strategy and execution for customer-facing and partner-facing platforms.
• Translate architecture directions into implementable engineering solutions and standards.
• Lead complex design decisions across applications, services, APIs, and integrations.
• Mentor teams on code quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Guide CI/CD, DevSecOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
