Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks an Electronics Technologist to join the Integrated Telemetry Systems Department in New Mexico. Onsite work is required to support testing, assembly, and troubleshooting of electronics hardware and software for telemetry projects.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking highly motivated Electronics Technologist to join our team. Ultimately, your hands‑on electronics assembly and bench testing knowledge and skills will be used to develop and support electronics testing and identify and solve problems as they arise. The variety of applications requires a strong foundation in electrical and engineering principles--any part from resistors to ICs could require installation, rework, and characterization. On‑the‑job training is available with this position.



On any given day, you may be called on to:

Partner with our engineers and other technologists to develop and execute testing of various commercial electronics


Assist on multiple parts being tested


Assemble and rework printed circuit boards


Troubleshoot testing problems


Integrate hardware and software


Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite.

Salary Range:

$74,700 - $144,400


*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.



Qualifications We Require:

High school diploma plus 5 or more years of directly relevant experience


R&D semiconductor wafer fabrication environment experience


Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance



Qualifications We Desire:

Associate's degree in an engineering/electrical field of study


Experience working in a laboratory environment, particularly related to electrical/electronic testing


Ability to collaborate with engineering staff to test hardware and document test results


Understanding of Manufacturing Best Practices


Demonstrated experience of documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and procedure updates


Understanding of chemical safety, handling protocols, and curing methods


Knowledge of operation of vacuum test environments


Experience with power supply programming


3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling experience, related to custom fixture applications


Ability to review data from analytical tests


History of work in lab environments, including inventory management and parts ordering



About Our Team:

The Integrated Telemetry Systems Department specializes in the design, development, and integration of advanced telemetry systems and flight qualified electronic systems for both Nuclear Deterrence and Strategic Partnership Projects customers. Our expertise encompasses hardware, firmware, and software solutions, enabling seamless data acquisition and processing for a variety of applications. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering innovative and reliable systems that enhance operational efficiency and support critical decision‑making processes.



Posting Duration:

Security Clearance:
