Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Rocket Center, West Virginia site is seeking a Sr. Principal Design Engineer to lead electronic subsystem development from concept to qualification. You will evaluate design factors, support manufacturing, and coordinate with other teams to meet contractual requirements.

The role requires a STEM degree and extensive hands-on design experience, including reading drawings/schematics and knowledge of DoD specs. A DoD Secret clearance is preferred or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or 12+ years in lieu of degree.
• Experience in developing electronic subsystems from initial design through qualification.
• Must be able to read drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Knowledge of industry and military specifications.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participate on Integrated Product Teams for complex development programs.
• Develop electronic products from a paper design to actual hardware build.
• Test and debug circuit cards and assemblies; fuzes and ISDs.
• Develop and maintain product technical data package.
• Identify and lead resolution of technical challenges.
• Strong ability to organize/prioritize job assignments and tasks in a demanding environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a development team.
