Job summary

Harris & Co Executive Search is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to help lead the inception of a Capital Advisory practice. This senior leadership role combines deep technical authority with the ability to develop client relationships and grow a book of business.

You will advise owners, developers, contractors, insurers, and lenders on complex capital projects across energy, oil & gas, power generation, utilities, transportation, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• PE license is required.
• Experience with a nationally recognized engineering consulting or advisory firm preferred.
• Track record of growing a practice through existing relationships and new business, with P&L responsibility.
• Experience as an expert witness, including reports, depositions, and testimony.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical authority on complex, high-value capital projects.
• Act as executive sponsor on strategic client accounts and build long-term relationships.
• Lead proposal development, business development, and expansion of key accounts.
• Provide expert witness services, technical investigations, and litigation/dispute resolution support (depositions, arbitration, mediation, testimony).
• Mentor engineers and consultants, supporting recruitment and succession planning.
• Own financial performance and profitability of assigned practice areas.

This is a senior leadership role for an electrical engineer who combines deep technical authority with a proven ability to develop client relationships and grow a book of business. You'll advise owners, developers, contractors, insurers, and lenders on complex capital projects across energy, power generation, utilities, oil & gas, transportation, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.

What the role involves:

• Serving as a senior technical authority on complex, high-value capital projects
• Acting as executive sponsor on strategic client accounts and building trusted, long-term relationships
• Leading proposal development, business development, and expansion of key accounts
• Providing expert witness services, technical investigations, and litigation/dispute resolution support (depositions, arbitration, mediation, testimony)
