Job summary

Pentera is hiring a Cyber Researcher to join the R&D team. You will perform deep technical research on attacker techniques across Windows, Linux, cloud, and enterprise environments, translating findings into scalable, automated attack emulations within Pentera’s platform.

The role combines research, development, and applied AI with direct impact on a real-world security product. Remote work with occasional travel to the Golden, Colorado office is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security research, pentesting, or adversarial security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Windows internals, operating systems, networking, and enterprise environments.
• 3+ years developing in Python; production-quality code.
• Experience with security tools such as Metasploit, Impacket, Nmap, Burp.
• Proficiency in reverse engineering and debugging with IDA, Ghidra, WinDbg, or Radare2.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms; AI/ML concepts for decision-making and automation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research into attacker techniques across Windows, Linux, cloud environments, and external attack surfaces.
• Design and develop advanced attack simulation techniques for automated validation.
• Translate research into production-ready capabilities within Pentera’s platform.
• Architect decision-making logic for dynamic attack paths and adaptive behavior.
• Develop high-quality code powering complex attack simulations in various languages and technologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering and product teams to integrate research into the platform.
• Mentor team members and promote technical excellence and continuous learning.
