The role requires extensive hands‑on design experience, mentorship capabilities, and the ability to work across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to deliver high‑end automation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience with automation and machine design.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary automation projects from concept to deployment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (Creo) and engineering analysis tools.
• Experience with controls integration (PLC, HMI, sensors, actuators).
• Experience with electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic power systems.
• Ability to obtain DoD secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete lifecycle of automation and machine development projects, including requirements capture, design, modeling, controls integration, prototyping, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, software, and systems engineers to deliver integrated automation solutions for manufacturing, logistics, and mission support systems.
• Identify and implement emerging technologies to improve automation performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and cross‑disciplinary teams, fostering innovation and technical mastery.
• Support business development through proposal work, cost estimation, and solution strategies.
