Job summary

Electra in Manassas, VA seeks a Senior or Principal Airframe Stress Engineer to lead structural analysis for the EL9 aircraft. You will ensure metallic and composite airframe integrity through analysis, testing, and FAA substantiation, collaborating across design, loads, materials, and certification teams.

The role demands deep analysis expertise, strong engineering judgment, and the ability to influence design decisions throughout development and certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in airframe structural analysis for aircraft programs.
• Advanced proficiency with FEMAP/Nastran or equivalent tools.
• Experience with NX or similar CAD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analyses for metallic and composite airframes.
• Develop substantiation methods and certification plans for FAA Part 23/25.
• Create and validate finite element models and hand calculations.
• Prepare substantiation reports and certification documentation.
• Present analyses during reviews and support testing/certifications.
