INTERA Incorporated is seeking a Principal or Senior Air Quality Engineer/Scientist to help lead its air quality practice across Texas, New Mexico, or Colorado. This high-impact role combines technical leadership with project management, client advisory, and business development responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of air quality permitting and compliance experience.
• Strong leadership, business development, and client-management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical audiences.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff.
• Experience with regulatory agencies and permitting discussions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with INTERA’s goals.
• Lead project scoping, proposals, budgeting, and execution.
• Develop INTERA’s reputation in air quality services.
• Lead and manage complex air quality projects for mining and industrial clients.
• Provide senior technical expertise in air quality permitting and dispersion modeling.
• Interpret and apply air quality regulations to develop practical solutions.
• Mentor and develop engineers and scientists.
• Review technical work products to ensure quality and excellence.
• Interact with regulatory agencies and participate in permitting discussions for clients.
• Serve as expert witness when appropriate.
• Shape the growth and strategic direction of INTERA’s Air Quality Services.
