Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Principal AI Engineer to advance our enterprise Data Platform for AI at scale. You will design reusable components, starter kits, and developer-first patterns to enable dozens of teams to build and deploy AI solutions safely, consistently, and securely.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in data and analytics, 5+ years delivering cloud-based data products, and hands-on GenAI/LLM experience.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience working with data, advanced analytics, and AI/ML.
5+ years delivering cloud-based data products.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Platform Management – design, support, and enhance Vertex’s data and AI platform for scalable AI adoption.
Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI starter kits and reference implementations.
Deliver end-to-end reference implementations for AI workloads with best practices.
Partner with platform engineering, governance, and product teams to accelerate AI development.
Package solutions as templated tooling and defaults aligned with enterprise standards.
Enable teams with reusable architecture patterns and developer-first abstractions.
