Job summary

Workday is seeking a Software Engineer to help build user-facing and platform experiences for AI agents within HR and Finance workflows. You’ll join a small, cross-functional pod, owning features end-to-end and deploying to production.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years (Senior) or 12+ years (Principal) of software development, with experience in SaaS, cloud, and modern distributed systems. AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Java, and TypeScript are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years experience in software development engineering (Senior)
• 12+ years experience in software development engineering (Principal)
• Experience building and operating SaaS products in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity with distributed systems architecture and modern software practices (DevOps, CI/CD, observability)
• Hands-on with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to Java (backend) and TypeScript (frontend/fullstack) is a plus
• Strong communication skills and collaboration in cross-functional teams

• Own services and experiences from development through production—you build it, you run it
