Job summary

Workday in Pleasanton is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead two scrum teams delivering core features for the Agent System of Record (ASOR) platform. You will mentor engineers, set quality standards, and partner with Product Managers andArchitects to drive the AI platform roadmap.

You should have 3+ years managing software teams and 8+ years in software development, with hands-on experience in React, microservices, cloud platforms, and AI/ML.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience directly managing and leading software development engineering teams.
• 8+ years experience in software development engineering, including architecting, building, and scaling robust software systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with LLMs and their strengths/limitations in work use.
• Technical breadth in modern web architectures—React, microservices/cloud platforms, AI/ML platforms.
• Delivery and operations: track record of project management, roadmap execution, and engineering best practices.
• Cross-functional influence: ability to collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, and stakeholders.
• Compassionate mentor building high-performing, diverse engineering cultures.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery for the ASOR platform features.
• Define execution strategies, sprint cadence, and team operating models to optimize velocity.
• Partner with Product Managers and Architects to align on vision and allocate resources.
• Drive cross-team alignment and technical integration across platform teams and partners.
