Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions (SMSI) is seeking a Prime Contracts Manager to lead and manage complex federal and commercial prime contracts with a focus on DOE/NNSA. You will serve as the main contractual interface, directing negotiations, contract administration, compliance, risk management, and closeout across federal and commercial agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 8+ years of federal and/or commercial contract management experience.
• Significant DOE/NNSA or federal prime contracts experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FAR/DEAR and federal procurement regs.
• Proven negotiation, administration, compliance, and closeout experience for federal/commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of federal and commercial prime contracts, including proposals, negotiations, award, administration, modifications, and closeout.
• Serve as primary contractual point of contact for DOE/NNSA, other federal agencies, commercial customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Interpret and apply FAR, DEAR, DOE/NNSA requirements, and applicable contracting principles.
• Lead negotiations on scope, pricing, schedule, funding, performance requirements, and T&Cs.
• Oversee contract changes, funding actions, releases, and related documentation.
• Identify and mitigate contractual, regulatory, and business risks.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, customer requirements, and company policies.
• Support proposal development, including contract reviews and cost/pricing input.
• Collaborate with program, project, and executive leadership, legal, finance, supply chain, and HR.
