AXA XL seeks an Executive Underwriter for Primary Casualty to lead our complex underwriting efforts in the Americas. You will work with brokers, agents, and internal teams to tailor policies, drive profitability, and mentor junior underwriters across a dynamic, risk-aware environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in primary casualty underwriting and an understanding of insurance principles and regulations.
• Ability to travel ~15% of the time as anticipated.
• Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite the unit’s most complex new and renewal business within assigned remit, driving profitable premium and rate goals.
• Collaborate with brokers/agents to tailor policies to client needs.
• Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters.
• Exercise discretion in risk analysis and evaluation.
• Participate in risk assessment discussions and decision-making.
• Negotiate with producers within delegated authority to meet profit objectives.
• Build and strengthen relationships with brokers and clients for new distribution.
• Maintain product/service knowledge to identify hidden risks.
• Represent the company at industry events and lead client/broker meetings.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and legal requirements.
