Job summary

You will design experiments, validate models, and present insights to senior leaders to influence pricing strategy and inventory decisions across hundreds of stores. The role emphasizes expanding pricing analytics capabilities and deploying ML-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years relevant work experience in data science or pricing analytics.
• Strong foundations in math, statistics, and modeling.
• Experience with ML deployment pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop new models and improve our existing models.
• Interpret, validate, and apply feature engineering to large pricing data sets.
• Find creative ways to incorporate new insights and data sources.
• Leverage statistical and ML techniques to develop, validate, and improve predictive models.
• Design controlled experiments to assess business value of new models.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leaders to drive change.
• Help CarMax advance its data expertise and modeling roadmap.
• Research innovations in data sources, modeling methods, and tools.
• Communicate model workings clearly to team members at all levels.
