Job summary
Virginia Tech in Blacksburg is seeking a Facilities Supervisor to lead multi-craft teams in maintenance and repair across university buildings. You will coordinate with shop staff, review work orders, plan preventive maintenance, and ensure safety, quality, and cost effectiveness while staying within budget and schedules.
The role requires a master license in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC, a valid driver’s license, and ability to operate daily.
Qualifications
- Current master license in electrical, plumbing or HVAC.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle daily.
- Experience supervising multi-trade teams in preventive maintenance.
- Familiarity with university building systems and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop priorities with shop supervisors and coordinate with building contacts.
- Review, monitor and supervise work assignments per SOPs.
- Prioritize PM work orders and ensure timely completion within budget.
- Ensure safety, quality, and cost-efficiency across projects.
- Complete work order administration and data entry accuracy.
- Coordinate procurement of materials and liaise with university staff.
- Support after-hours and weekend responses as Emergency Personnel.
